The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations Governance to oversee and ensure effective and compliant distribution governance operations at Netwealth. This pivotal role involves managing the Service, Administration and Support (SAS) department’s adherence to the fraud prevention framework, and ensuring compliance with AML/CTF operational obligations, including customer KYC and ongoing transaction monitoring.

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for timely addressing and reporting all risk and compliance issues, including those related to fraud, privacy, and processes. You will collaborate closely with Netwealth Management and the Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to identify risks, implement controls, and develop comprehensive reporting for the board, committees, the Executive, and management. Your ability to navigate the legislative landscape and upcoming reforms will be crucial in preparing the business for regulatory changes.

You will lead a diverse team, providing mentorship and coaching to ensure seamless operations and adherence to governance policies. You will also offer expert advice and guidance on complex queries and risk and compliance matters, playing a key role in safeguarding our organisation's integrity and reputation.

About you

You are a strong leader that brings expertise in managing risk and compliance issues, including fraud prevention, privacy and AML/CTF operational obligations.  You are ready to engage in hands-on work, from building frameworks to rolling out new initiatives and thrive in bringing ideas to life and getting projects off the ground.

You bring the following skills and experience.

  • Financial Services 
  • Risk and Compliance 
  • Strong superannuation knowledge
  • Investments, IDPS and Managed Accounts 
  • RG146 qualified
  • strong understanding of legislative landscape and upcoming reforms
  • AFCA and regulatory experience
